Biking and Hiking
For those who'd rather travel by their own power rather than on horseback, hiking and mountain bike trails will take you to many Yellowstone Country destinations. Bicycles are available to rent or feel free to bring your own.

Whitewater & Scenic Rafting
Enjoy the thrills and spills of the Montana's Gallatin River. Several companies offer whitewater and scenic float trips through the beautiful Gallatin Canyon.

Cross-Country Skiing
For cross-country skiers the West Yellowstone area is nothing short of a free heeler's Mecca. From manicured groomed track to off-piste deep powder, skiers of all abilities will find an endless array of trails and backcountry adventures. One of the highlights of the area is the world-renowned Rendezvous Trail System. The 40-kilometer trail is impeccably groomed daily and is within walking distance from virtually any location in town. With a super long ski season (at least November through April) and every conceivable amenity available, West Yellowstone is the perfect cross-country ski destination. Dog Sled Tours

West Yellowstone’s only year round movie theatre. The Bears Den Cinema offers first-rate movies with a full sized screen, ultra Stereo Surround Sound and 125 seats. The concessions counter has movie-lover’s hot buttered popcorn and other favorite treats.

Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center
View live grizzly bears and gray wolves in a naturalistic environment. Fun and educational for the whole family. The Yellowstone Experience awaits you at the recently redesigned Museum of the Yellowstone with the cooperation of the Smithsonian Institution. New programs include walking tours of West Yellowstone’s Historic District, interactive family exhibits and interpretive ranger programs. Open May through October.
